Hi! I’m Angela Moore,
CFP Certified Personal Trainer
CFP Certified Fitness Instructor
Mom of 2 daughters
Thanks for stopping by! I’m thrilled to announce the opening of my Personal Training Studio, which is in the basement of my home in the Laurelwood area of Waterloo, Ontario. It is a comfortable, well-equipped home studio (including a new Octane Q37 Elliptical machine). Clients have full use of the private washroom and shower adjacent to the studio. Therefore early morning, lunchtime and/or after-work sessions are a breeze to fit into your schedule!
I work with men and women of all ages and fitness abilities on a one-to-one basis. You also have the option to train with a friend or partner, in a semi-private setting. Therefore, you can enjoy the added support of a buddy as well as lower rates. As your personal trainer I will motivate and encourage you while adapting fitness routines to meet your individual needs. And most importantly, I will make your workouts enjoyable!
I also teach Bootcamps, both indoors and out! What is Bootcamp, you ask? Bootcamp is a fun, butt-kicking workout in a group environment performed outside (RAIN OR SHINE!!!!) or inside in the later fall and winter months. Every class includes a warm-up, some cardio drills, plyometrics, some resistance training using our own body weight and hand weights, a full abdominal/core portion, a cool down and a good, well deserved strrrrrrrrretch at the end. It is short term so you only need to commit to a few weeks to kick-start your metabolism. All you need to bring is your attitude, water, a set of hand weights (5 – 8 lbs) and a towel or yoga mat.
Each “Camp” program is designed as a progressive training model. So as time passes and as you get more fit, you will be more challenged (either by intensity, complexity, speed etc). I may include some circuits, intervals, obstacle courses, relay races, games etc…
I will apply the “No camper left behind” philosophy so DON’T WORRY if you don’t think you can keep up!!!! There will be many modification options. My main goal for you is your safety and to have fun! So why not give Bootcamp a try?
Sooooo, a little about me, me me!
I have had a keen interest in the fitness industry for as long as I can remember. When I was little, my mom used to teach “Expressive Exercise” classes in various locations all over Montreal. Quite often, she would schlep me along. I used to love participating with all her “ladies”. I’d get right up there in the front row and copy exactly what my mom was doing. I loved it so much that I followed in her foot steps…
I began teaching my own “aerobics” classes back in the days when we used to wear our body suits on the outside of our spandex shorts, (yes the term “butt-floss” may come to mind!!) And those over-sized shrug socks and scrunchies for our hair… One day, these too shall be back in fashion!! But lets hope not!!! What were we thinking???
As I was leading the classes, I always found myself walking around the room, and focusing on each person individually. I would either offer modifications or simply correct their stance. I loved educating the participants about what muscles we are working, and how we use them functionally etc…That’s when I realized that I should be doing this one-on-one.
Fast-forward a decade or so, (and skip the part about getting married to my best friend and having two beautiful daughters now aged 9 and 7) I became a personal trainer and I have never been happier or more satisfied. Working with people one-on-one truly is my passion. No two people are the same, but almost everyone has the same common goal: To feel great about themselves. I love getting people to that point in their lives where things seem clearer, fresher, more positive. Everyone has the potential of reaching that goal. And sometimes all you need is someone to nudge you in the right direction. Someone who will challenge you, motivate you, hold you accountable, respect you and congratulate you on a workout well-done.
Music is my other passion.
I love all kinds of music from “Bach to Boogie” (I got that from my mom, too). I believe music has an enormous impact on people, sometimes without them even knowing it! Music can motivate and pump you up; it can relax you and calm you down. It can trigger memories, conjure up images, generate thoughts and spawn creativity. It can clear your mind and help you think. It can distract you or help you escape. Music can definitely influence your mood.
During our training sessions, I love to play music; and with your permission, I love to play it… loud! I love listening to it, dancing to it, moving to it, cleaning the house to it. I love discussing music. And most of all, I love sharing it. I am always open to playing your choices, your requests, your playlists.
So enough about me, let’s talk about you!
